What Is DUPR?

DUPR — the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating — is the number that tells you (and us) your true skill level, so you land in the right tournament bracket and get competitive games.

📊 2.0–8.0 scale 🌎 One global rating 📍 Kendall, Miami

The Basics

One Number, Everywhere You Play

DUPR stands for Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating. It's a single, global rating that scores every player on the same scale — from 2.0 (just starting) to 8.0 (touring pro) — regardless of age, gender, or where you play. Most recreational and competitive players land between 2.5 and 5.5.

Unlike a self-rating (where players guess their own level), DUPR is built from your actual match results. That makes it honest and consistent — a 3.5 in Miami is the same as a 3.5 anywhere else, which is exactly what makes fair brackets possible.

How It Works

How Your Rating Is Calculated

DUPR updates automatically from your recorded matches — here's what moves the number.

Match Results

Wins and losses against other rated players — the core of your rating.

Score Margin

How close the games were — a tight loss to a strong team still counts.

Format

Singles, doubles, and mixed doubles are each weighed into your rating.

Recency

Recent matches carry more weight; ~20 matches a year keeps it reliable.

Why It Matters at Dink Club

Fair Brackets, Better Games

When you sign up for a Dink Club tournament or bracketed event, your DUPR helps us place you in the right division — so you're matched against players at your level instead of getting blown out or steamrolling the field.

Don't have a DUPR yet? No problem. Open play and court rentals are open to everyone, and playing recorded matches and events at Dink Club is a great way to build your rating.
